Ahead of her participation in Eurovision 2026, Bulgarian singer DARA has appealed to Bulgarian communities abroad for support. Bulgaria’s entry, “Bangaranga”, will be performed in Vienna on May 14.

“DARA needs our support! On May 14, let’s vote and help send her to the final! You can vote through the official app or at esc.vote. Every vote from abroad matters. Share with friends and let Bulgaria’s voice be heard,” Bulgarians living in Germany wrote in a message shared in the Facebook group “Bulgarians in Düsseldorf”.

DARA has repeatedly emphasised the importance of support from Bulgarians abroad.

'I’ve met many Bulgarians around the world, and I know how strong their connection to Bulgaria remains. This participation is not only about me, but about our country too. It would mean a lot to me to feel their support,” the singer said following a meeting at the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad.

In recent days, she has also released video messages addressed to Bulgarian communities across several European countries.

“I would be very grateful for your vote in the semi-final on May 14 in Vienna. I truly hope we will experience the final together as well,” she says in the videos.

The Bulgarian singer has already taken part in rehearsals on the Eurovision stage, and early reactions have described her performance as energetic, confident, visually polished and demonstrating strong stage presence. Reports have also emerged of last-minute adjustments to “Bangaranga” by the Bulgarian delegation ahead of the semi-final.

As anticipation around Bulgaria’s entry continues to grow, attention is increasingly focusing on the music, staging and choreography that DARA will bring to the opening performance of the second semi-final on 14 May.

“I am going to Vienna not only as an artist performing a song, but also as a representative of Bulgaria — of the people who love this country, of those who live there and of those who live far away but still carry Bulgaria within them,” said DARA before departing for Austria from Sofia Airport.

“Thank you for the support, and also to BNT for once again opening this opportunity for Bulgarian artists and Bulgarian music. I love my country, and I will do my very best to represent Bulgaria with dignity.”

This year's Eurovision edition will also allow viewers from outside the participating countries to vote — a possibility that, according to Bulgarian National Television (BNT), could mobilise Bulgarian communities around the world in support of the country's entry.

DARA and “Bangaranga” will open the second Eurovision semi-final on 14 May, performing first in the running order.
