During the first regular meeting of the government, Prime Minister Rumen Radev emphasized that the critical condition of several sectors and the declining purchasing power of citizens require clear priorities as well as urgent and adequate measures.

The first step in this direction is the set of draft laws submitted by “Progressive Bulgaria” aimed at countering rising prices and bringing inflation under control. The substantive work of defining concrete measures is only now beginning. According to the prime minister, these measures must simultaneously improve the transparency and substance of pricing mechanisms while curbing illegal competition.

This comprehensive approach, he noted, should protect Bulgarian producers, strengthen the national retail base, lead to shorter supply chains, safeguard food quality and origin, and at the same time enhance resilience against external shocks.
