The new Bulgarian government has appointed 28 regional governors, replacing all current office holders. Among the new appointees is former Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) correspondent Plamen Hristov, who was named regional governor of Lovech.
Mr Hristov has 30 years of professional experience in the media sector, having spent the past 14 years as a BNR correspondent in Lovech.
When asked about his priorities in his new role, Hristov said that completing the renovation of the 12-storey regional administration building would be one of his key tasks.
"There are no unimportant problems. All are important for certain people", he said, adding that he would continue to approach public issues and politicians with the same critical eye he had employed throughout his journalism career.
