MPs have extended by two weeks the deadline for submitting proposals for amendments to the Judicial System Act, BNR’s reporter Maria Fileva informed. The chair of the temporary Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Professor Yanka Tyankova from Progressive Bulgaria, justified the extension by citing the preparation of opinions from the Supreme Court of Cassation and the Supreme Administrative Court. MPs from Democratic Bulgaria, We Continue the Change and Vazrazhdane opposed the move, while the parliamentary group of GERB did not participate in the vote.
MPs also extended by one week the deadline for written proposals on two draft bills adopted at first reading this week — the Protection of Competition Act and the Consumer Protection Act. Konstantin Prodanov from Progressive Bulgaria clarified that the request had been made during yesterday’s meeting with the prime minister.
National Assembly Speaker Mihaela Dotsova announced from the parliamentary rostrum that a ruling from the Constitutional Court of Bulgaria had been received, declaring unconstitutional the National Assembly's decision on measures against the price shock caused by high crude oil and natural gas prices, adopted on March 13.
