The documentary film "Haberlea", dedicated to Bulgarian singer and composer Dyana Dafova, will have a special screening on May 28 at the "Lumière" cinema in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. Known for mixing folklore, ethno and world music, Dafova draws inspiration from the Rhodopes - the mountain associated with the mythical Orpheus.
The film by director Petya Angelova does not follow the classic biographical style, but intertwines documentary cinema with artistic elements and strong visual symbolism. The title comes from Haberlea rhodopensis - the Orpheus flower, known for its ability to "come to life" after drying. It becomes a metaphor for spiritual resilience and the ability to overcome difficulties.

The photos take viewers to some of the most impressive locations in Bulgaria, Italy and Türkiye. The team tells of a series of inexplicable coincidences during filming – heavy rain and thick fog suddenly gave way just before the start of important scenes, while in locations with strict restrictions, the cameras managed to capture footage at the last possible moment. According to the producers, it was as if “something was guiding them” throughout the entire filming process.
