Intense truck traffic on the border with Türkiye

Traffic for outbound trucks heading to Türkiye via the “Kapitan Andreevo” border checkpoint remains heavy. Traffic is normal at all border checkpoints and crossings with Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Romania, the Border Police reported. At the Ruse–Giurgiu border crossing, repair works on the bridge over the Danube River are ongoing, and traffic is being regulated in a single lane.

Two people have died and 19 have been injured in 20 serious road accidents over the past 24 hours, the Traffic Police reported. Since the beginning of the month, there have been 340 serious road incidents, resulting in 26 fatalities and 408 injuries.

Since the beginning of the year, 154 people have died and 2,546 have been injured in road accidents.

Over the past 24 hours, 40 fires have been extinguished across the country, the Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection reported.
