Prime Minister Radev: Bulgarians deserve well-reasoned pricing processes

“Bulgarian citizens deserve quality food products; they deserve transparent and well-reasoned pricing processes,” Prime Minister Rumen Radev said during a meeting with representatives of retail chains. The meeting is part of the government’s broader approach to developing and implementing measures aimed at curbing rising prices and increasing transparency in pricing.

He explained that the laws currently under consideration are modeled after German practices. “We want nothing more than what exists in Germany, but nothing less either. Just as Germany has transparency throughout the entire pricing chain, we also want that chain to be transparent here in our country,” he stated firmly.

“I am convinced that all of you understand your role and are ready to assume social responsibility toward Bulgarian citizens during this difficult period of declining purchasing power caused by various factors,” Radev told the representatives of the retail chains.
