Dr. Lu Tien was born in Beijing, but in 1993, when she was only 16 years old, she visited Bulgaria for the first time, as her mother, also a doctor of Chinese medicine, had been practicing in our country for many years. Years later, after she herself completed her education in Chinese medicine at Shanghai University, she came to Bulgaria again, but this time she stayed here and graduated from traditional medicine at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".
Tenth generation doctor Dr. Lu Tien has been helping and treating numerous patients for 18 years, applying traditional methods of Chinese medicine through herbs, acupuncture and cupping. She shares that she feels and senses like a Bulgarian and believes that the path to good health and longevity goes through preserving positive energy, through more movement, avoiding stress and engaging in favorite activities.
"I like nature, food and friends in Bulgaria, because the biggest difference from other countries is that Bulgarians have a good heart and warm blood. I also have many friends in Bulgaria. And I like and am used to living in Bulgaria. I accept everything because I feel like a Bulgarian. My mother was good friends with Baba Vanga. And she told her that 400 years ago my mother and I were Bulgarians. And that is why now, in this life, we have come here for gratitude - to help Bulgarians and to heal in Bulgaria for a lifetime. And that is probably why I accept everything here and I like everything. The only thing I don't eat is goat cheese," shares Dr. Lu Tien, laughing.
Dr. Lu Tien reminds us that according to the principles of Chinese medicine, the most important thing we need to do for a healthy and fulfilling life is to keep our positive energy. To avoid stress, to balance and stay away from bad emotions and depression. That is why she also tells us about a funny incident from the past that she remembers.

"I remember when I first came to Bulgaria in 1993 - the prices were such that you had to pay several thousand leva for an ice cream. Back then I was studying Bulgarian at the Institute for Foreign Students and could only say a few words, and I had to go to the store to buy eggs. Back then there were no supermarkets like now, only stores. At the lessons I only learned how to say the word "chicken", not hen, but "chicken". And when I went to buy eggs, I said - "Can I buy the children from chicken?" And the old lady there was smart and brought me an egg. That was in 1993, now they will definitely bring me some chicken", laughs Dr. Tien.
"Bulgaria is one of the countries with long-living people - many Bulgarians live to be 90 years old. And this is because here you have yogurt, good wine and brandy. In general, you are a country with good health.
But there are also diseases here, which we can divide into three groups according to Chinese medicine. The first is the group of problems with heart function. The second is that of people without energy, prostate and kidney problems. And the third group - those with joint problems.
They are mainly due to the lack of movement and the lack of sports in Bulgaria. And also to bad habits, such as the fact that here you love the cold very much. For example, in winter you use skirts, not trousers, and this is not good for the bones. And also - while we are young, we should start preparing for old age. And also sleeping with the window open, and there is a strong air conditioner in the car - how can your bones not hurt?", asks Dr. Tien.

Since her first arrival in Bulgaria more than 30 years ago, she has kept her wonderful memories of how beautiful and clean it seemed to her here. And that is why now, after 18 years of living in Bulgaria, she says that she already considers herself Bulgarian.
"I absolutely feel Bulgarian, because every day I see your Bulgarian faces and I forget that I am Chinese - I think I am one of you. And I feel one hundred percent at home here in Bulgaria" - Dr. Tien tells us. As a true Chinese doctor, she wishes everyone to be very healthy and long-lived. And sharing the millennial wisdom of Eastern medicine, Dr. Tien advises us not to forget that a harmonious and fulfilling life is achieved by preserving positive energy in the body and psyche, through movement and positive emotions, as well as by staying away from stress and negative experiences. And she reminds us that in order to be long-lived and have a good old age, we must make efforts from a young age.
