There
will be no layoffs in budget structures before a comprehensive
analysis is carried out. This was what Prime Minister Rumen Radev
said at the
beginning of today's government meeting, commenting on the planned reduction in the number of civil
servants and the upcoming changes in the administration.
"I
want to clearly state that there will be no mass layoffs that lead to
a loss of administrative capacity.
There will be no layoffs and
restructuring without a thorough analysis to establish which
functions are duplicated, which are outdated and inadequate, and
which can be automated and digitalized," the Prime Minister
said.
Agencies
and directorates with duplicate functions are to be merged. The
Administrative Reform Council under the government will be headed by
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Galab Donev. A few days
ago, Donev stated that from September 1, costs for salaries in the
state administration will be reduced by 10%, but salaries will not be
reduced.
