Traffic at Bulgaria’s border crossing points with Türkiye has intensified, particularly for freight vehicles. According to the latest data from the General Directorate “Border Police”, outbound truck traffic is extremely heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo Border Checkpoint and Lesovo Border Checkpoint. Drivers should expect possible delays at these locations.

At the border crossings with Greece, Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic for all types of vehicles is normal. The Border Police remind travelers heading to Greece that the Rudozem Border Checkpoint, Zlatograd Border Checkpoint, Makaza Border Checkpoint and Ivaylovgrad Border Checkpoint allow only passenger cars and minibuses up to 3.5 tons. All freight vehicles and buses must use the Kulata Border Checkpoint, Ilinden Border Checkpoint, or Kapitan Petko Voivoda Border Checkpoint.

Traffic at the border with Romania is normal. Planned repair works are currently underway on the Bulgarian section of the bridge facility at the Ruse–Giurgiu border checkpoint. Traffic is being regulated and passing takes place in a single lane.
