Bulgarian artists receive recognition before May 24

Minister of Culture Evtim Miloshev presented the "Golden Age" awards to nearly 40 Bulgarian artists and cultural figures on the occasion of May 24 - the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture and of Slavic Literature. The ceremony was held at the National Gallery "Palace" in Sofia.

The winners of the highest award "Golden Age" are medievalist Academician Vasil Gyuzelev, composer Lyubomir Denev, actor Valentin Ganev, pianist Borislava Taneva and writer Rada Moskova. Poet and musician Mihail Belchev was awarded posthumously.

Miloshev wished the artists health and inspiration and pointed out that culture and the creative process do not depend on time, age or place, but are an inner spiritual necessity and mission.
