Bulgarian delegation goes to audience with Pope Leo XIV in the Vatican

The
visit of a Bulgarian parliamentary delegation led by the President of
Parliament Mihaela Dotsova to Rome and the Vatican continues for the
celebrations on the occasion of May 24 - Day of the Holy Brothers
Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture
and of Slavic Literature.
The
culmination of the visit is this morning in the Vatican, when the
delegation will have an audience with Pope Leo XIV. A meeting with
the Vatican’s Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin is also
planned.
Later,
the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation will attend a solemn Orthodox
liturgy in the Basilica of San Clemente and will bow before the
relics of Saint Cyril. The MPs will also visit the Basilica of Santa
Maria Maggiore and lay flowers in front of a memorial plaque in the
temple, in which the Slavic alphabet and books received official
recognition from the Vatican, the parliament's press center has
reported.
