Long queues of trucks at the border with Türkiye

Traffic at the border crossings “Kapitan Andreevo” and “Lesovo” on the border with Türkiye is extremely intense at the exit for trucks, the Border Police reported. As of 6 a.m. on May 22, the column of trucks waiting at “Kapitan Andreevo” was about 4 km long. During the day on May 21, it reached about 19 km.

Traffic at the other border crossings in the country is normal, with the exception of Ruse - Giurgiu, where repairs to the bridge over the Danube River continue and traffic is regulated to one lane. Around 490,000 cars are expected to leave Sofia during the weekend because of the holiday on May 24, the Road Infrastructure Agency says. The traffic will be most intense on the last working day before the holiday - May 22 and on the last day off - May 25, Monday.
