Bulgarian Foreign
Minister Velislava Petrova met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of
Canada Anita Anand during the NATO meeting in Sweden, the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs has reported.
The
two sides agreed on the desire to deepen bilateral cooperation and
strengthen the regular high-level political dialogue between Bulgaria
and Canada.
The main emphasis was placed on expanding the partnership
in areas such as security and defence, energy, trade, investment,
innovation, education, science and technology. Key international
topics were also discussed.
During
the conversation, the Bulgarian Foreign Minister raised the topic of
opening a Canadian embassy in Sofia, which would contribute to
building the partnership and strengthening diplomatic relations.
