Sofia joins the European Night of Museums on May 23 with dozens of museums, galleries and cultural spaces that will open their doors to visitors with special exhibitions, concerts, screenings and educational events, BTA reports. A total of 76 sites in Sofia are included - 26 museums, 36 galleries and 14 alternative spaces.

The initiative gives the capital's residents and guests the opportunity to visit some of the most significant cultural institutions in the city for free or at preferential rates and to join a diverse program until midnight. In most museums, the doors open at 6:00 p.m. The European Night of Museums is being held for the twenty-first time in Bulgaria. The event was first organized in 2005 by the French Ministry of Culture and for just a few years it successfully spread throughout Europe. More information and the program are presented on the event website https://museumnight.bg/sofia-2026/
