The Stara Zagora Zoo is organizing its fourth volunteer campaign. The
main efforts of the volunteers on May 23 will be aimed at improving
the habitat of the collared peccaries (Pecari tajacu) and the area
around them – we learn from a post on the zoo’s Facebook page.
The
animals look like small wild boars. On their back, near the tail, the
collared peccary has a specific musk gland, which is why they are
sometimes called “musk pig”.

The organizers invite residents and guests of the city to get
involved in order to create a cleaner and more welcoming environment
for both the animals and visitors.
