Varna is once again the capital of sailing. Until May 25, 2026, the city is hosting one of the most attractive events in the Black Sea – Varna Channel Cup.

The regatta traditionally gathers the elite of Bulgarian keel sailing for the first time in the year. The competition is part of the official calendar of the Bulgarian Sailing Federation and is held with the support of the Port of Varna. The event is organized by the Municipality of Varna, Yacht Club "LZ Yachting 1991" and Sailing Club "Ultramarine".

On Saturday, May 23, the races start in the Varna Bay. The culmination is on May 24 - Sunday, when the competition will be held in the channel under the Asparuhov Bridge and will end in front of the Marine Station. This way, spectators will be able to observe the participants very closely, making Varna Channel Cup the only sailing competition of its kind in Bulgaria.
