The Dreamed Adventure, a drama by German director Valeska Grisebach set and filmed in Bulgaria, won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

The co-production between Germany, France, Bulgaria and Austria was filmed entirely in Bulgaria with Bulgarian non-professional actors and a predominantly Bulgarian crew, co-producers at Miramar Film said.

Set in the southern Bulgarian town of Svilengrad near the borders with Greece and Turkey, the film follows a woman who becomes involved in illegal trafficking to help a man she barely knows but with whom she shares a special bond.

As Veska (Yana Radeva) takes his place in a risky undertaking, she enters dangerous territory and is forced to confront both her own desires and her past.
