Weather in Bulgaria will remain unstable on Monday, with temperatures reaching up to 27 degrees Celsius, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology said. Rainfall during the first half of the night will be concentrated mainly in mountainous areas, before weakening and stopping by morning. Cloud cover will decrease across most of the country.
Monday morning will be mostly sunny. Cumulus clouds will develop around and after noon, with brief showers expected only in isolated places, mainly in the mountains. Light north-northwesterly winds are forecast, while eastern Bulgaria will experience moderate north-northeasterly winds. Maximum temperatures will range between 22°C and 27°C, with around 24°C expected in Sofia.
Mountainous regions will also experience mostly sunny conditions before noon, followed by cloud formation and isolated showers in the afternoon, primarily over the Balkan Mountains and the Rila-Rhodope massif. Moderate to strong north-northeasterly winds are expected. Temperatures will reach around 15°C at an altitude of 1,200 metres and around 8°C at an altitude of 2,000 metres.
The Black Sea coast will be mostly sunny before noon, with cloud building later in the day, but no rain is expected. Winds will be light to moderate from the north-northeast, turning weak from the east-southeast in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will range from 21°C to 24°C. Sea water temperatures will be between 16°C and 17°C, with sea conditions reaching around 2 on the Beaufort scale.
