There
must be energy in motion in the paintings and nuances is the means by
which I express the inner emotion, the creative movement - this is
what artist Plamen Kostov reveals about himself. He has already
gained extensive experience in communicating with the public through
paintings. Horses, birds, dogs often appear on his canvases, and
according to him, this is the most direct way to express a sacred
understanding of love, intimacy, freedom, strength. Nature inspires
and "speaks" to the artist, who has been known to lovers of
acrylic painting for nearly a decade.
Plamen
Kostov is a student of Veliko Tarnovo University "Sts. Cyril
and Methodius", but his attraction to art manifested itself in
his earliest childhood years. Even today, he has retained this
childish view of the world, not hiding his excitement from every
gesture of kindness, from all the pure and unadulterated colours and
sounds that exist in nature. That is why in his work he reflects this
world of beautiful and kind characters – the animals that a person
subconsciously loves to keep around them, because they bring peace
and spiritual harmony.

"I experience everything. And as Prof. Etienne Levy /musician/ said about me, you can feel deep emotions in the paintings. This is the key for me, as this inner energy must be brought out, shown to people - this is my message in art. The inner voice that guides you - you must show it through an exhibition. But the most important thing for me is that when the person looks at the painting, it speaks to him or her in some way, on a pure energy level. The painting must evoke some emotion. This is the mission of the artist."

For Plamen, childhood is the time when a person's senses develop, so he happily remembers his carefree games with many friends in his father's hometown - Maglizh. There were his first encounters with the animals that his grandmother raised in the yard. "Naturally, we are very close to animals, because the problems in this life affect us equally. That's why I think we take the best from nature. Because that's who we really are."

"Most
people already associate me with horses. But the animal that I find
closest to the Bulgarian people, as strange as it may sound, is the
rooster - it is closest to the Bulgarian energy and world view. I
have lived in two countries - in Bulgaria and in Russia, because my
father is Bulgarian and my mother is Russian. My mother is from Komi
in Russia. That is quite far north. The winter there is
very cold and in the summer my family and I were here in Bulgaria,
in my father's house in the town of Maglizh. We finally settled in
Bulgaria when I was 8 years old. Maglizh is a small town, between
Stara Zagora and Kazanlak. The place has its own charm, the nature
there is preserved. I had a very nice childhood. More nature, more
friends, more free life outside. This has inevitably influenced my
paintings. Everything I have learned, both in Russia and in Bulgaria,
has influenced me - as culture, as an attitude and communication with
people."
Plamen
Kostov has been gaining popularity among collectors of contemporary
art. His paintings travel to the USA, the Netherlands, Great Britain,
Canada, Russia, Greece, Turkey. Of course, they are most often
purchased in Bulgaria.

"I suppose that these people liked my paintings from photos on the Internet. Currently, interest in works of art is great in Bulgaria, bigger than that in Russia. People want to feel good at home and are looking for specific things, they order paintings or they like something that brings them some peace. People are increasingly open to art, to works that bear the personal touch of the artist. In our country, what has come from the hand of the master is increasingly appreciated and this trend makes me very happy, as I see how artificial intelligence is developing and can imitate everything. Now this is precisely what makes people need art more and more."
