According to preliminary data, about 3,000 decares of agricultural land have been affected by the floods caused by torrential rains. Livestock farms and pastures in the regions of Sevlievo, Apriltsi, Gabrovo and Veliko Tarnovo have been affected. This became clear during the visit to Sevlievo of Minister of Agriculture - Plamen Abrovski, Minister of Regional Development - Ivan Shishkov, and Minister of Labour and Social Policy - Natalia Efremova.
According to Shishkov, the water supply system broken by the rain is being repaired and will be put into operation on May 26. Due to the accident, the population of Sevlievo and other settlements were left without drinking water. In Sevlievo, social workers have visited the flooded homes of 110 families. They can receive a one-time aid of 1,171 euros from the Social Assistance Agency, and then possibly additional support. The search continues for a 55-year-old man who is missing after the flood in the region of Sevlievo.
