For 5 years, Bulgaria has received half of the funds under the Recovery and Resilience Plan. There are three months left to receive the other half. The stake is nearly 3 billion euros. This was what Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov told Nova TV. In June, half of this payment should be received - 1 billion plus previously withheld money for the anti-corruption reform. In August, we should receive the rest - about 1.6 billion euros, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
At
least 500 million are at risk due to the lack of reforms in the
energy sector. Projects related to public procurement, water
operators and transport are lagging behind. Bulgaria is currently
renegotiating the terms of the plan, which it proposed to Brussels.
If the money under the plan is not fully received, the implemented
projects will be financed from the budget, Pekanov also said.
