Bulgaria has so far received 53% of the funding allocated under its National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov said at a news conference at the Council of Ministers. He added that the government would seek to secure more funding than the EU average under the national recovery and resilience plans. According to him, some projects that cannot realistically be completed on time will be replaced by others that are already under way.
"Across the European Union, member states have received on average more than 70% of their allocated funding, and this calculation includes Hungary, which has received less than 10%. The best-performing countries have received over 80%,” he said. “Our government’s goal is to preserve the maximum possible amount of funding, but certainly to finish at least above the European average,” he added.
