Aspects of the modernization of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, as well as current issues concerning security risks in Europe and around the world, were among the topics discussed with a military delegation from Serbia, the press center of the Ministry of Defense announced.
Deputy Defense Minister Lyubomir Monov met with participants from the 15th class of the strategic course at the University of Defense of Serbia. The group visiting Bulgaria includes senior military officers, members of the University of Defense in Belgrade, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces, as well as representatives of Serbian institutions.
This is the first visit in such a format, Deputy Minister Monov noted. He emphasized the development of bilateral relations in the field of security and defense, as well as the opportunities for military cooperation. The guests were presented with key highlights of Bulgaria’s defense policy within the framework of the common defense policy of the EU and NATO. Special attention was given to the capabilities of Bulgaria’s higher military and higher medical education systems for the needs of the armed forces, policies in the field of human resources in the army, and scientific units in the defense sector.
On November 4, 2025, a delegation from the Serbian Ministry of Defense also paid a working visit to Bulgaria, BTA recalls.
