Temperatures to rise, showers in Eastern Bulgaria and the Rila–Rhodope massif

On Saturday, the lowest temperatures will range between 9°C and 14°C, around 11°C in Sofia. It will be mostly sunny, with temporary increases in cloud cover in the afternoon. Over the Rila–Rhodope massif and Eastern Bulgaria, rain clouds will develop, bringing brief showers. A moderate westerly wind will blow, becoming strong over the Danubian Plain. Maximum temperatures will range from 24°C to 29°C, around 24°C in the capital city.

Along the Black Sea coast, it will be sunny, with temporary cloud increases in the afternoon. Rain clouds will develop along the northern coastline, with a chance of brief showers and thunderstorms. There will be a moderate northwesterly wind. Daytime highs will reach 23°C–25°C. The seawater temperature is 16°C–19°C. Sea state 2 on the Beaufort scale.

In the mountains, it will be mostly sunny before noon. In the afternoon, rain clouds will develop mainly over the Rila–Rhodope massif, bringing brief rain. Moderate north-west wind will blow, becoming strong at higher altitudes. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 m will be around 16°C, at 2,000 m around 8°C.

On Sunday, maximum temperatures in some places will again exceed 30°C. In the afternoon, cumulonimbus clouds will develop over the mountains and eastern regions, bringing isolated short showers and thunderstorms. There will be a weak to moderate northwesterly wind. Maximum temperatures will be between 25°C and 30°C.
