Life expectancy in Bulgaria increases

Life expectancy at birth for the Bulgarian population calculated for the period 2023 – 2025, was 75.9 years, an increase of 0.3 years compared with the previous period, 2022 – 2024, the National Statistical Institute said.

Life expectancy for men was 72.2 years, while for the female population it was 7.4 years higher- 79.6 years.

Compared to 2015, life expectancy in 2025 has increased by 1.1 years for the male population and by 1.6 years for the female population.

Life expectancy of the urban population (76.7 years) is 2.9 years higher than that of the rural population (73.8 years).
