Bulgaria is ready to expand economic cooperation with China and attract more Chinese investment, Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Alexander Pulev said at the opening of a Chinese-Bulgarian roundtable on trade and investment in Sofia.
According to Pulev, the government is preparing a law on public-private partnerships aimed at providing greater security for strategic investment projects. Plans also include the creation of a coordination unit under the Council of Ministers to make it easier for investors to navigate procedures and cut bureaucracy.
Earlier in the day, Pulev met representatives of 21 leading Chinese companies. During the meeting, Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Dai Qingli said investment cooperation between the two countries had made progress across a number of sectors.
