Nationwide inspections launched into illegal construction projects

The Interior Ministry is launching nationwide inspections into illegal construction projects similar to the Baba Alino complex near Varna, Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev said in Kardzhali.

Authorities are continuing the search for Ukrainian businessman Oleg Nevzorov, who is linked to the construction project, as well as several other individuals. According to operational information, Nevzorov is currently outside Bulgaria.

Demerdzhiev said there were indications of political interference and money laundering connected to the illegal complex, BNR correspondent Valya Apostolova reported. According to the minister, the case near Varna is “only the tip of the iceberg”.
