The American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria has voiced criticism against the changes proposed by the ruling Progressive Bulgaria party to the Competition Protection Act and the Consumer Protection Act. The position was stated in a letter sent to the President of the National Assembly, Mihaela Dotsova, BTA reports.
According
to the Chamber, the proposals limit the principle of free business
initiative and create excessive interference in the relations between
participants in the supply chain. The organization states that some
of the texts eliminate established contractual practices typical of
developed market economies.
The
letter also reads that the bad practice of passing serious
legislative changes hastily without the necessary impact assessment
and without in-depth public discussion continues in the 52nd National
Assembly.
