The former CEO of the Bulgarian Development Bank, Stoyan Mavrodiev, has been detained in Belgrade after having been missing since August 2024. The arrest took place a day ago, and the Ministry of Interior is preparing the documents for his extradition to Bulgaria.

Stoyan Mavrodiev, who is charged with embezzlement, is wanted under a European Arrest Warrant in connection with a BGN 150 million loan granted to companies linked to businessman Rumen Gaitanski, known by the nickname “The Wolf.”
