The Regional History Museum in the northwestern Bulgarian city of Vratsa welcomed more than 2,800 visitors in May, a month that saw the institution host a national conference and an exhibition dedicated to the poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev.

According to the institution's monthly bulletin, cited by BTA, nearly 100 foreign visitors toured the museum, while close to 600 people took part in its educational and cultural events.

The museum is home to one of Bulgaria's most remarkable archaeological treasures: the Rogozhen Treasure. This is a collection of 165 gilded silver vessels dating from the 6th to the 4th century BC. Many of the artefacts are believed to be of local Thracian origin and are decorated with intricate motifs and mythological scenes that reflect the rich culture and beliefs of the ancient Thracians.

The museum's June programme includes the launch of its annual "Summer at the Museum" initiative, events marking the 130th anniversary of Vratsa's Sericulture Station – the first such institution established in post-Liberation Bulgaria – and participation in the national Ledenika folklore festival.
