Twenty people detained for drug distribution in the capital

In a large-scale operation by the Sofia Directorate of Interior against the distribution of drugs, 20 people were detained in the Sofia district of “Hristo Botev”, announced the director of the Sofia Directorate of Interior Lyubomir Nikolov.

About 400 doses of so called “herb” mixed with amphetamine, which has a highly toxic effect, were found. “The danger of overdose is very high and leads to severe physiological and mental consequences,” said the deputy city prosecutor of Sofia Desislava Petrova. She added that the police are also expected to report today that about 5 kg of cannabis, distributed in jars and bags, were seized.

The house in which some of the drug dealers were arrested belongs to a 53-year-old unemployed man nicknamed “Rumo”. He installed cameras on street lampposts next to his home, which was used for drug distribution and is located near a school.

According to Lyubomir Nikolov, the detainees are criminally active, and the owner of the house is known to the police for drug trafficking, robberies, and beatings.
