Workshop on traditional Bulgarian embroidery to be held in Tokyo

A workshop on Bulgarian embroidery, titled “Let’s Take Up the Needle!”, will take place on Sunday, June 21, at the premises of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Tokyo, Japan.
The announcement was made on Facebook by the diplomatic mission, which shared an invitation from the workshop leader, Iren Yamami. The event is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. local time and will focus on traditional Bulgarian embroidery and its distinctive motifs.
“We are pleased to invite you to an embroidery workshop organised by Ms Iren Yamami,” the invitation states.
According to the organisers, the programme will include a lecture, demonstrations, practical guidance, and all necessary materials. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about traditional Bulgarian embroidery techniques and the symbolism of various ornamental patterns.
“During this workshop, you will learn about special stitches used in traditional Bulgarian embroidery, as well as the meaning and application of traditional motifs,” the announcement adds.
