Nearly 25 children have already registered to participate in the event "Berlin: A Musical Fairy Tale of Words – a fun show and creative workshop for young and old", which will be held on June 11 at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in the German capital. The young participants will present their favourite Bulgarian poems, fairy tales and songs, as a special guest is writer Lili Spasova.

"We realize that children who live abroad - in Berlin and other countries around the world, also need to be represented, because every child has the desire to stand in front of an audience and recite their poem or sing a song in Bulgarian. Language is what sustains us as Bulgarians, as a society abroad, and most of all we focus on that children do not forget their native language," Veneta Terzieva has told Radio Bulgaria.

The
event is organized by the creators of the Bulgarian Berlin website -
Veneta Terzieva and Viktor Grigorov. The idea is for the children to
be given a stage and a microphone, on which they can boldly show what
they have learned in Bulgarian to their parents, relatives and
compatriots.
"It
is important to have the courage to stand in front of an audience and
tell stories, to recite. They grow up in a different environment and
the Bulgarian language is not the language they speak every day,"
Terzieva adds.
According
to her, among the works that the children will present will be works
dedicated to favourite Bulgarian heroes - Vasil Levski and Hristo
Botev, as well as classic poems about childhood that "should be
heard by every child."
A
special guest at the fairy tale meeting will be writer Lili Spasova.
A poet and author of children's books, she has been working for years
to encourage children's reading and creative imagination. In Berlin,
Lili Spasova will meet with young readers and participate in a
creative workshop dedicated to the power of words and fairy tales.
The
event is part of a larger initiative by the Bulgarian Berlin website,
aimed at creating a new collection of fairy tales for children. The
organizers have already received dozens of texts from authors of
different ages.
"We
are not looking for perfect writers, we are looking for imagination
and heart, people with an original feeling and view of the world.
Fairy tales that make us smile, think and believe that good is
possible. We are currently in the selection stage, but it is very
difficult for us because we received very beautiful fairy tales that
could be beneficial for our children," Veneta Terzieva says.
According
to her, the interest is so great that the organizers are already
considering the possibility of publishing two volumes instead of one.
They are currently looking for a suitable publisher to support the
implementation of the project and help the good stories reach
Bulgarian children around the world.
