For 15 years, the pioneers of the Bulgarian dance scene DEEP ZONE Project have been intertwining folklore motifs in their music. In their latest song Ogan & Voda (“Fire and Water”) they mix not only the elements of nature, but also original folklore elements. DJ Dian Solo told us more:

"We wanted to create our own melody, our own lyrics, to intertwine them in our own way, the way we feel it. To mix two elements of nature - fire and water, in one song, and something really beautiful to be born. The other thing we wanted to do was to mix traditional Bulgarian folklore instruments like the kaval. There are also drums and our guitarist Dani Dimitrov plays the tambourine here... There is also a female folk choir in the song. So, this hybrid is really something very nice and is a modern Bulgarian dance folklore track."

The video to the song, in which we also see nestinars (dancers on glowing embers) entering the fire under the rain, visualizes the merging of these natural elements - fire and water. The last shot also features the daughter of Eva-Maria- the singer in DEEP ZONE Project, dressed in her tiny folk costume. She carries the message that when fire and water merge, this beautiful, true, pure love is born, which the musicians of the group want to pass on to the generations.
