Sofia Pride vs. Family March

On June 13, two marches with different messages will be held in Sofia – Sofia Pride and Family March. Sofia Pride, which the organizers define as the largest event for equality and human rights in Bulgaria, will begin with a cultural program at 4:00 p.m., the organizers announced on their website. From 6:00 p.m., participants will traditionally hold a march through the streets of Sofia in support of equality and the rights of the LGBTI+ community. At the same time - from 6:00 p.m., Family March is planned. It will be led by the Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniil. According to the organizers, the event is in support of family, Christian faith and traditional values. The ruling Progressive Bulgaria party stated in parliament its support for this event.
