Every 4 out of 10 people who used administration services were asked for bribe

Four out of ten citizens who used the services of the administration in the past year were asked for a bribe or a gift. Three of these four agreed, according to the Corruption Monitoring System of the Center for the Study of Democracy. The data were announced at a public discussion at the House of Europe in Sofia. According to the director of scientific activities of the center, Dr. Todor Galev, quoted by BTA, in Bulgaria the manipulation of rules, the distribution of public resources and the exercise of power is observed in various spheres - not only in the judiciary, executive and legislative branches, but also in sectors dependent on state funding. Among them are energy, telecommunications, construction, the real estate market and healthcare.
