Sunshine before noon, rain in the afternoon expected in Bulgaria on Tuesday

On Tuesday, minimum temperatures in Bulgaria will range between 14°C and 18°C, with around 14°C expected in Sofia. The morning will be mostly sunny. During the afternoon, clouds will develop, bringing rain showers and thunderstorms to many areas, particularly in the mountainous regions. Moderate west-northwesterly winds will blow across the country.

Maximum temperatures will range from 24°C to 29°C, reaching around 27°C in the capital.

Along the Black Sea coast, rainfall and thunderstorms will still occur in the northern areas during the morning, but they will quickly subside, and the cloud cover will temporarily break up, giving way to mostly sunny conditions. Later in the day, cloudiness will increase again, bringing occasional rain showers. Moderate north-northwesterly winds are expected. Maximum temperatures will reach between 24°C and 27°C. Sea water temperatures will range from 20°C to 23°C, while sea conditions will remain slight, with waves of 1 to 2 on the Beaufort scale.

In the mountains, the morning will be mostly sunny. Around and after midday, rain clouds will develop, bringing showers and thunderstorms to many areas. The Central Balkan Range, the Rila-Rhodope Massif, and the regions of Belasitsa and Ograzhden will face conditions favourable for locally intense rainfall and hail. Moderate to strong west-northwesterly winds will prevail. Maximum temperatures will be around 21°C at 1,200 metres and approximately 13°C at 2,000 metres above sea level.

On Wednesday, the air mass over the country will remain unstable. The morning hours will be sunny, but from the afternoon until around midnight, rain clouds will develop once again. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in places, mainly across Eastern and Southern Bulgaria. Moderate northwesterly winds will continue, while temperatures are not expected to change significantly.
