I condemn the arson of diplomatic cars at the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje. This is not an ordinary criminal act, but an unacceptable attack on a diplomatic mission, which calls into question the ability of the authorities in North Macedonia to guarantee the security of foreign diplomatic missions in accordance with their international obligations. This is stated in a position by President Iliana Iotova, quoted by BTA.
Meanwhile, the arsonist who set fire to two diplomatic cars in front of the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje at noon on June 15 has been detained by the police, North Macedonian authorities announced. This is I.D., 44, from Skopje. The Bulgarian Embassy in North Macedonia officially asked Skopje if he too will be heroized again, BGNES has reported. There is a police post with North Macedonian officers in front of the diplomatic mission building. Neither during the attack, nor after it was there any reaction from their side, the position of the Bulgarian representation also states. In an interview with TV ALSAT-M, North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski condemned what happened.
