Mostly sunny Thursday with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms

On Thursday, the lowest temperatures will range between 13°C and 17°C, around 14°C in Sofia. The weather will be mostly sunny before noon. In the morning hours, visibility will be temporarily reduced in some places, mainly in the lowland areas of Southern Bulgaria. Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop in the afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected, mainly over the mountains and Eastern Bulgaria. Hail is also possible. Winds will be light to moderate from the north-northeast. Maximum temperatures will range between 26°C and 31°C, around 26°C in the capital city.

Along the Black Sea coast, the weather will be mostly sunny before noon. Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop in the afternoon, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms in some areas. There will be a light to moderate northeasterly wind. Daytime highs will range from 21°C to 25°C. The seawater temperature is 19°C –22°C. Sea state 1–2 on the Beaufort scale.

In the mountains, sunny weather will prevail before noon. Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop in the afternoon, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms in some places. A moderate northerly wind will blow. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 meters will be around 20°C, at 2,000 meters around 12°C.

On Friday, the air mass will remain unstable. Temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged. Afternoon showers are expected over Western Bulgaria. The wind will gradually shift from the northeast.
