Normal traffic reported at all border checkpoints

Traffic at all border checkpoints on Bulgaria’s borders is normal, the Border Police reported. At the “Ruse–Giurgiu” border crossing, the major renovation of the bridge over the Danube River is expected to be completed by the end of June. Until then, traffic is being diverted into a single lane on the Bulgarian section of the bridge.

Between 1:00 p.m. and 3:20 p.m., traffic organization will be temporarily changed on sections of the national road network in Sofia Region due to a cycling tour, the Road Infrastructure Agency announced. Vehicles will have to wait on site for the cyclists to pass, after which traffic will be allowed to proceed. Traffic will be regulated by the Traffic Police.

In the past 24 hours, one person has died in 23 serious road accidents across the country. Thirty people were injured. Since the beginning of June, 28 people have died and 512 have been injured in 395 serious road accidents.
