Protesters
held up signs reading “No to hate. We are not enemies” in front
of the North Macedonian embassy in Sofia. The action was prompted by
setting fire to diplomatic cars in front of the Bulgarian mission in
Skopje.
“We
want to show what good neighbourliness is. Beating people, destroying
cultural clubs and setting cars on fire have no place in the EU,”
the protesters said, calling on North Macedonian politicians to stop
blocking their country’s European integration.
The
protest was held under the slogan “Flower for Friendship.” The
demonstrators carried roses, which they placed on the cars of the
North Macedonian embassy. "This
rose symbolizes our brotherly attitude towards the people of North
Macedonia. It also aims to show the government in Skopje that we are
not blind and we know what the goal of Hristijan Mickoski's policy
is," Ilija Stojanovski from Skopje told BGNES.
