Bulgaria
will receive nearly 1 billion euros from the fourth payment under the
Recovery and Resilience Plan, Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov
said. The funds will be deposited into the state’s accounts by the
end of July, BNR reporter Tsvetelina Stoyanova has informed.
“The
key to this result was what was done in the past few weeks regarding
anti-corruption reforms and the rule of law. This showed that our
country is not looking for loopholes and easy solutions, but will fulfil its commitments responsibly, effectively and in the interest
of Bulgarian citizens,” Atanas Pekanov said.
According
to the European Commission, 23 of the 26 stages and objectives have
been satisfactorily fulfilled by the country. The unfulfilled
measures specified by Brussels under the fourth payment are in the
field of culture, the water sector and the integrated urban
transport.
For
the fifth and final payment, the country will rely on 1.7 billion
euros, which will require mobilization and discipline until the end
of August, the Deputy Prime Minister also said.
