At the beginning of the summer season in the Turkish capital Ankara, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) presents a special issue in Turkish of its magazine "LIK", dedicated to Bulgarian balneology and spa destinations.

"BG SPA - Health through Water" is now available in Bulgarian, English and Romanian and presents 128 certified SPA, wellness and medical SPA centers in Bulgaria. The number 128 is symbolic and is in connection with the 128th anniversary of the agency, celebrated in February this year.

The evening dedicated to the Bulgarian summer, which will take place at 7:00 PM in the BTA National Press Club on Atatürk Boulevard 199-E in Ankara, is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Türkiye and the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism.

The Bulgarian National Radio will be represented at the event by the editor-in-chief of Radio Bulgaria Krasimir Martinov.

Bulgaria's tourism presence in Türkiye is gaining momentum and the media in the neighbouring country are increasingly talking about it. In its Sunday issue of June 21, 2026, Hürriyet Daily News published an article dedicated to the initiatives of the Bulgarian government to activate cultural and tourism cooperation with Türkiye, to introduce the country's historical landmarks, gastronomic diversity and tourist routes, and thus - to attract more tourists from Türkiye.

The newspaper also highlighted the fact that a monument was unveiled in the city of Çorlu, Tekirdağ province, northwestern Türkiye, in memory of the ethnic Turks who emigrated from Bulgaria in 1989. "The monument was built to preserve the memory of the migration and ensure that the suffering experienced during the period is not forgotten," the article reads.

Also in Ankara, the beginning of summer was marked with a fashion show by Bulgarian designer Ivan Donev and performances by the chamber ensemble of the Academic Folk Choir - Plovdiv. The event, which featured a haute couture collection, was organized by the Embassy of Bulgaria in Türkiye.

Nearly 200 people, including diplomats, business representatives and Bulgarian compatriots, watched the fashion show, BTA correspondent in Ankara Ayşe Sali has reported.
