Smooth traffic at Bulgaria’s border crossings

Traffic is flowing normally at all border checkpoints with Bulgaria’s neighboring countries, the Border Police said. At the Ruse–Giurgiu border crossing with Romania, repairs to the bridge over the Danube River are nearing completion. Until the end of the month, traffic on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge will continue to be regulated in a single lane.

25 serious road accidents were reported across the country over the past 24 hours. No fatalities were recorded, while 26 people were injured.

Since the beginning of the month, there have been 507 serious road accidents, resulting in 32 fatalities and 643 injuries. During the first nearly six months of the year, Bulgaria has recorded 2,840 serious road accidents. The death toll stands at 205, while 3,523 people have been injured.

Compared with the same period in 2025, the number of road fatalities has increased by 28.
