Prof. Bernhard Haeupler working in Sofia with a grant of 2.5 million euros

Professor Bernhard Haeupler was awarded a prestigious European Research Council (ERC) grant of 2.5 million euros. Haeupler works at the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT) of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". The news was announced by the European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation, Ekaterina Zaharieva.

This is the first grant from the ERC for a researcher based in a Bulgarian host institution under the Horizon Europe program, the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria indicates. Prof. Haeupler and his team at INSAIT will develop new mathematical and algorithmic tools for optimization of large networks within the framework of the 5-year project FullScaleOPT.
