A photo of a document that is claimed to be a note from the embassy of North Macedonia in Sofia has become another topic between Bulgaria in North Macedonia, BTA reports. The photo of the alleged document was published 6 days ago in the Facebook group “Grubovci, Enidzhe Vardar – Rodna Macedonia”, but is no longer available on the Internet. The “note”, which is from the beginning of 2026, requests the provision of a transport corridor, “and if possible, a police escort for the entire stay” for the wife and son of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski in the Bulgarian resort of Pamporovo.

Commenting on this, Mickoski calls the publication a “diplomatic precedent”. Answering a journalist’s question whether an improvement in relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia is expected after the meeting of the President of the Assembly in Skopje, Afrim Gashi, with the President of the Bulgarian Parliament, Mihaela Dotsova, Mickoski said: "I don't expect it. The signals coming from Bulgaria do not make me optimistic, on the contrary, the situation is radicalizing,"

Mickoski added that he had informed "NATO partners" about the case with the publication of the "diplomatic note", which, in his words, "threatens the security of his family."
