Bulgaria's social old-age pension will increase from €170.51 to €183.81 as of July 1, following a decision adopted by the Council of Ministers.
Speaking after the government meeting, Minister of Labour and Social Policy Natalia Efremova said the increase is in line with the percentage applied in the annual pension adjustment under the so-called Swiss rule, as well as the increase in minimum pensions.
The social old-age pension serves as the basis for determining a number of other social benefits and pension-related payments in Bulgaria. The adjustment is part of the government's broader pension indexation measures that take effect on July 1.
