A new cycling infrastructure along the international EuroVelo 6 route along the Danube is planned by the municipalities of Tutrakan, Glavinica and Oltenița. For this purpose, the municipal council in Tutrakan gave its consent for the municipality to apply with a project under the Interreg VI-A Romania–Bulgaria program, BTA reported.

The project envisages the construction and rehabilitation of about 36 km of cycling infrastructure on both sides of the Danube, of which nearly 27.5 km in Bulgaria - between Tutrakan, Pozharevo, Dunavets, Dolno Ryahovo and the protected area "Malak Preslavets". Tourist and safety infrastructure are also planned. The project is worth nearly 6 million euros, and the concept has already been ranked third among 42 applications. The deadline for submitting the project proposal is June 30.
