Prime Minister Rumen Radev said that the budget deficit cannot be sharply reduced to the 3% required by the EU. He commented on the opposition's criticism of the proposed draft budget for this year, which includes a 5.7% deficit. "Look who is criticizing. Those who are most to blame for this deficit," Radev said, reporter Tsvetelina Stoyanova informed.

Radev pointed out the need for stricter control over state spending. Among the main measures, he indicated cutting inefficient spending and revising public procurement. He gave examples of infrastructure and administrative contracts, including a 1 billion lev order for guardrails suspended by his administration, which will be reviewed.
